Wired Certification Launches in Atlanta with Support from Invest Atlanta

96% of Atlanta’s office workers surveyed said that access to reliable internet was critical to business success

WiredScore today announced the official launch of Wired Certification into the Atlanta commercial real estate market. With this launch, Atlanta businesses can now identify office buildings that offer best-in-class connectivity infrastructure to keep their companies online and productive.

After a market research report, Atlanta 2018 Tenant Tech Trends, returned data stating that 96% of Atlanta tenants surveyed said access to reliable internet was critical to their success, some of Atlanta's most forward-thinking landlords led the charge to certify their local assets to better demonstrate best-in-class digital infrastructure current and prospective tenants.

The commercial owners and developers leading the adoption of Wired Certification in Atlanta are: The Allen Morris Co, The Ardent Companies, The Brookdale Group, Columbia Property Trust, Hines, Jamestown, Lionstone Investments, North American Properties, Richard Bowers and Co, Seven Oaks Management, Third Rail Studios and Zeller Realty Group with more committing to Wired Certification in the coming weeks.

Tenants including Amazon, Deloitte, Google, and Salesforce have signed leases in Wired Certified buildings across the country. Prominent local projects such as T3 West Midtown, Atlantic Yards and Northwinds VII are using Wired Certification to ensure the projects are future-proofed and well-connected as they target prominent corporate occupiers for pre-leasing.

"We support WiredScore's mission to improve transparency around digital infrastructure in commercial properties. By doing so, we can promote Atlanta's global competitiveness as a destination for businesses across all sectors and support the existing community of innovative organizations that call Atlanta home. With Wired Certification, companies in Atlanta will be able to identify properties that provide access to the reliable and resilient connectivity their businesses depend on and be confident that the property is future-proofed to support continued growth,” says Kevin Johnson, Senior Vice President of Economic Development for Invest Atlanta, the City of Atlanta’s economic development authority.
“The growing adoption of Wired Certification will showcase Atlanta as a smart place to grow businesses and invest. Connectivity is a fundamental resource for businesses to operate successfully and demonstrating that Atlanta’s Commercial Real Estate assets have advanced connectivity infrastructure, by providing transparent, globally-recognized ratings will help to attract and retain businesses to Atlanta. We are thrilled to be working with the industry leaders and Invest Atlanta to promote better connectivity infrastructure across the market,” said WiredScore’s Head of Atlanta, JD Jeske.

More than four million tenants in over 1,400 buildings globally trust Wired Certification as the benchmark for reliable digital infrastructure. Until now, there has been little information available to Atlanta’s tenants about the quality of internet connectivity in office spaces. The disconnect has caused increasing pain in the tenant community as is evidence by the fact that 89% of office workers surveyed experience connectivity issues in their current space. Given 96% of that same group believe reliable internet is critical to daily productivity and 90% say they prioritize access to reliable connectivity when evaluating a new lease, it’s clear that as commercial development increases across Atlanta, so must the digital infrastructure standards.

Owners of both occupied assets and development projects who invest in certifying their buildings receive a detailed understanding of their digital capacity as well as consulting on what to prioritize to increase their standings. Certifications can be easily incorporated into leasing strategies to ensure there is a non-complex language to communicate best-in-class connectivity to prospective tenants.

“We are proud to partner with WiredScore as they provide valuable high tech wired certification which promotes best-in-class building connectivity,” said Mike Guynn, Managing Director at The Ardent Companies. "Piedmont Center continues to position itself as a leading location for tech companies where the infrastructure and comprehensive services support and drive talent recruiting and retention to a unique campus environment in the heart of Buckhead. Wired Certification supports our mission to provide top-line amenities and experiences for our tenants and visitors."
“We are excited to join WiredScore as a launch partner and welcome Wired Certification to the Atlanta Office market so that tenants will be able to easily identify office properties that offer best-in-class connectivity," commented Fred H. Henritze, President and COO of The Brookdale Group.
